What an EMI estimate can tell you

How amount, interest and tenure affect a repayment illustration.

Start with three inputs

An EMI estimate uses the amount borrowed, the interest rate and the number of monthly payments. Our calculator uses a reducing-balance formula and assumes equal monthly payments.

Changing the tenure changes the picture

For the same amount and positive interest rate, a longer tenure generally lowers the monthly payment while increasing the total interest paid.

An estimate has limits

Processing fees, taxes, insurance, moratoriums and payment dates can change the actual amount payable. Our calculator excludes these items and does not represent an approved rate or offer.

Use it to prepare questions

Try different scenarios, then ask the lender for the complete repayment schedule and all applicable costs. Product availability and eligibility must be assessed separately.
